March 28th, 2007 Categories: Famous Silver Spring People, Silver Spring Neighborhoods, silver spring real estate
Childhood home of Lewis N. Black, grammy award winner, comedian and playwright
This
house was built in 1953 and Lewis Black’s parents were the original owners. Born in 1948, Lewis was raised in this modest 3 Bedroom, 1 Bath Brick Rambler with an unfinished basement, located in the Burnt Mills Knolls subdivision of Silver Spring, Md zip code 20903. Black probably attended Burnt Mills Elementary School or possibly Cresthaven Elementary School within walking distance of this house. He most likely attended Eastern or White Oak Junior High School (anyone know for sure which one?) Lewis graduated from Springbrook High School in 1966. Black’s parents Samuel and Jeanette lived in this home up until the time they sold it in August of 2001. More about Black and his MySpace Page.
Some Lewis Black quotes about Silver Spring:
Tells people he lives in Washington D.C., “because he thinks anyone from Silver Spring, Maryland is a pussy.”
“Its only claim to fame is that it’s the largest unincorporated city in America. In other words, we were too lazy to govern ourselves. The town motto was, ‘I’d like to vote, but I don’t feel like driving.’” – Lewis Black
